The use of native material is carried to the interior of the house beginning with the Pennsylvania bluestone flooring in the foyer, screened porch, and mudroom, as well as native ash wide plank flooring throughout the remainder of the first floor.

The main living are features a native and historic detail stone alcove for the woodstove. The large prairie style windows used throughout the house frame beautiful views in all directions. Restored architectural salvage is used throughout with interior doors and hardware.

Past the staircase with its circa 1890 newel post and balustrade, the kitchen has restored salvage crown molding and polished native bluestone countertops.

Grey gunnite 14' X 40' pool with 7' X 7' hot tub add the finishing touch to this spectacularly designed home.

The views the entire property, including from the pool area, are spectacular.  The pool overlooks the pond, the mountains and valley beyond.
  Other Amenities

With the engineering design, a great deal of attention was given to climatic and seismic conditions; this applied particularly to thermal insulation, as well as snow and wind loads. The highlights of this design approach include the following items.

Building insulation standards were developed by Schlenger/Pitz and Partners, Mechanical Engineers, Baltimore, MD. This formed the basis for their design of the heating system.

A heated, insulated crawlspace is incorporated into the design. This feature recycles residual heat generated in the lower level furnace room and reduced heat load requirements in the rooms above.

Roof finishes throughout are metal, designed for high wind loads. The Main house roof is coated steel, standing seam design, with a 25 year warrantee on the coating finish.

In order to aid in the shedding of snow from the metal roofs, no gutters are incorporated into the design. Paved surfaces, gravel areas and landscaping accommodate this snow accumulation. Perimeter foundation drainage disposes of snow melt. Anderson casement and French doors (vinyl clad, wood interiors) are used in the Main house, with Argon gas-filled ultraviolet protective glass. A concealed whole-house lighting protection system is incorporated into the structures, this includes a central electrical surge protection system in the Main house.

Guest quarters:

The barn features newly renovated butler's guest quarters on the second floor. Spacious and stylist describes this additional living area. Completely furnished and ready for comfortable living this country apartment is the perfect compliment to this extraordinary property. Spaces include open living/kitchen/dining area, separate bedroom and bath.

It has a bright and airy living room with woodstove on a bluestone hearth, a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and a study area that can accommodate a sleep sofa. Watch the sunrise over the Catskills and enjoy breathtaking views on the living room/bedroom balcony. The barn also has a 2-story high farm equipment area, heated utility room, two car garage / shop area and bluestone floored foyer with staircase leading to the second floor.

A sport court measuring 30' X 60' is fenced in and lighted.

A built-in satellite dish and wiring system provides the main house with digital audio/visual signal. A separate TV/FM antenna is also wired throughout the house. As an option, satellite Internet service can be added. Current technology provides high speed Uplink capacity of 128 KBS and downlink of 512 KBS. A solar powered wireless Davis Weather Station is also incorporated, with a remote base unit that reads inside/outside temperatures, records rain fall and wind chill.
